Samarai Initiation with the Goddess Amaterasu of Edo - Japan
Updated: Sep 22
What an honor to revisit Japan in the circumstances of this lifetime with my husband of the same past life in Tokyo (aka Edo of Ancient Tokyo). She is the Shinto Goddess of the Sun. Her story was that her brother made fun of her and said she was not beautiful so she hid herself away and darkness proceeded. The other Gods and Goddesses called upon the Goddess Uzume, the comical contortionist to raise her interest and bring her out to Shine upon the Earth. Then the Gods and Goddesses watched Uzume perform lawdy antics and laugh so loudly that Amaterasu became curious of what they were laughing at and came out to see a Mirror they placed so she could see was the Radiant Being the Earth needed for mankind to exist and all living things to feel her radiance to thrive.
In this meditation, I became acquainted with the matcha green tea ceremony I attended and was an impromptu Tea Ceremonialist for the Goddess Amaterasu. She was sleeping on her ornate bed and her Light shined lower and calmer but as the Day proceeded when she went to her throne that was golden and rays of the sunbeams design in gold was gleaming but not as brightly as the Goddess; she became this Radiant Golden Ray of Sun and her rays created her hair to become red for the high point of the day time of her Light. She was wearing golden ornate silk Kimono and her eyes could hold the Sunlight in them and glowed like Golden Embers but she could control the strength of her Beams as her eyes glowed golden and she didn’t wish to harm me so she commanded the Sunray beams to be gentle and not burn me. I bowed, holding my hands in the traditional triangle and placed my hands on my lap before her. I gifted her the sugar shaped sweets with golden flecks as flowers in a vase for her with honey glowing amber on these and as if floating honey misted flowers in the air. She was happy and I was grateful. She called me her “Child” and I kept my bow in respect of The Goddess of the Sun. She told me that I would remember my past life in a little more detail as time went on this trip to Japan. I was curious but she knew and told me in time again. I was patient and would let the truth be revealed.
As I proceeded; with the tea ceremony since we had meditated, I took the tea, the tea spoon, a long handled bamboo and a red cloth folded front and back to wipe clean, as a sign of purification and preparing for the tea ceremony. I then placed it on the tier it was on. Then I proceeded to fold the red napkin again front and back and take water in the tea bowl that was a pure gold with sunray decorations and diamond in the front to face the Goddess. I then wiped the tea cup clean, then I prayed more for zenful moments of purification, harmony and stillness and being in the now as their philosophy in Japan tea ceremonies “Ichigo Ichie” One in a life time - encounter. I then took the spoon and put the matcha green tea with flecks of gold just for the Goddess Amaterasu and the bamboo whisk was ready and took the bamboo ladle from the hot water already prepared and boiled and took the water and pour some from the ladle into the golden cup. I had made sure the sunbeam design faced me as I turned it 12 to 3 and from 3 to 6 so the floral design faced her. She was given sweets with sugar and little starch into flowers of the season and the rice wrapper with cinnamon wrapped with flecks of gold. In tradition, the sweets are eaten first to understand the sweetness in life and then I whisked the tea which is the bitterness as the Japanese appreciate contrast and reflection of this and so I whisked the matcha back and forth with the bamboo before this cup positioning and then in ‘M’ shaped as it frothed with flecks of gold and then a clockwise turn for completion. I positioned the cup for Amatersu as she patiently waited with her golden sunray beamed eyes and roaring red flamed long tresses. I bowed before her and she sipped the tea and enjoyed it very much. Then as Japanese tradition to show the tea ceremonialist she had completed this speechless ceremony of being present; she wiped with her two fingers where she drank after the last slurp to indicate she was done and then she turned the cup 12 to 3 and 3 to 6 so the flower diamond sunbeam designed faced me in respect. I put my hands in a triangle position to bow and then she did her bow with me. She extended her hands as if I was a miniature size and told me to put my hands in her big hands palm to palm and sent golden rays surging gently into my eyes, my ears, my mouth and palms and anywhere my body needed the sunbeam healing of her Energy as a blessing. She then took a sword and ‘knighted’ me a Samurai and I began to tear up. I was shaking with tears and she told me now you will start to remember more as you travel what you and your husband’s life was. My husband was a humble man in his last lifetime dressed in black and worked with his hands wearing black cotton and stocky and older. I was younger and bored of tea ceremonies, flower arranging and playing instruments…I had committed ‘harikari’ which is an honor killing of suicide slicing your belly to die because being so lonely for my husband and this trip has been so opposite. I thanked the Goddess for her Blessing and revelations today and to come. Thank you Goddess Amatersu for your Light and Sunbeam blessings. Aho and Namaste. Ohayo…Good Morning, Konnichiwa…Hello…Konbonwa…Good Evening/Afternoon…Sayonara…Goodbye & Arigato…Thank you.
