Toxic Masculinity from Pangasinan/Filipino God Apolaki

The mythology of the precolonial Gods and Goddesses existed in the Philippines which was not known as the Philippines but the names of the provinces and regions varied and then came the name from the Republika ng Pilipinas and became known as the Philippines.
There were Gods and Goddesses and some regions called the same God or Goddess a different name but held the responsibility and assignment to care for Sun or Moon, Water, etc. When the Spanish conquered; they eliminated the attention to the Gods and Goddesses of the Ancient Pilipinas. This is another way to say Filipinos as plural.
In my research to understand the Philippines and how it came to be and history, mythology, culture and stories will help me understand as a Mestiza never exposed to this education of my mother’s culture will help me understand now as it is never too late to learn about your family culture, history and stories…So this journey for me will be very honorable and interesting and eye opening to study the history and mythology of the Filipinos and start with a main God named Apolake…Apolaki was the son of Bathola which is the main language used today called “Tagalog.” His father went into a deep sleep and Apolaki, his son, was the God of the Sun and War. His sister was the Goddess of the Moon. The story is that Apolaki wanted to control both the Sun and Moon but he went into battle and they used Bamboo Clubs and he damaged one of his sister’s eyes and regretted this. He then made a pact with Mayari that they stop fighting and she remained as she wanted all along equal as he watched over the Sun and she the Moon.
Meditation gave me a glimpse of him and he was very brown and wore a camel gold color skirt with some decorations on these. He had long hair and a very strong and large muscular build. His sister was shapely and petite and brown as well and very luminescent because she is the Goddess of the Moon.
Mayari is pictured with only one eye and the other blinded and closed but she still reigns the Moon, the stillness, inner reflection and the feminine divine but also war and revolution. Apolaki talks of the ‘Toxic Masculinity’ to me as he goes on that he is weary of the human race being so violent and toxic to the planet, to the women and children and all living things. He said, “Patriarchy has ruined the value of the feminine and taken away her true self and power to be expressed without punishment, death, judgement or repression..The toxicity is ruining our Mother Earth…the nurturer or provider for us all.”
Apolake continues to speak of his frustration and anger and wants to wipe out the human race and I reason with him gently…”Don’t you think that destruction and destruction do not equate peace? How can one want peace yet destroy people to get it?” He began to think with his pensive eyebrow about this. He realized the pattern you initially thought without pause was the same as attacking his own sister to have it all was a patriarchal move that harmed his own flesh and blood and luckily the realization applied to him wiping out the human race wasn’t the answer.
He was reminded that Fall Equinox is coming and this Universal Lesson of the Time to remove Toxic Masculinity was essential to everyone’s survival and thriving. This is the end of the abundance of food grown and the time we have more daylight in the summer to do active things to try different things and to manifest and achieve some goals because the God of the Sun encourages activity and movement as the weather is more pleasant to be in. When Autumn comes near we have to take into account not the problems to wipe out but the gratitude in the bounty of blessings we have instead and appreciate the inner reflection time that the Goddess of the Moon may remind us to be instead of just destroying and dismissing or judging and getting rid of the relationship instead of working hard to improve and be in the balance of not toxic masculinity but balance of the feminine divine within us each.
So when you feel compelled to destroy in anger then take a pause and a few deep breaths to think clearly…does this resolve things and give me peace in a peaceful way or am I imposing my will and strength unjustly just to get what I want without thinking it over and utilizing the higher self.

May you take the time to take a pause and breathe a few deep breaths and then take time to calm and think of a resolution of peace instead of destruction towards it.
